That Guy of 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom operates this website. The Damp Guy is an information website about damp in homes. It publishes articles and answers written in good faith to help you understand what is happening in your own property. It is not a trading damp-proofing, surveying or building service, and nothing on this site is an offer to carry out work or a survey.
3. Information, not advice
The content here is general information, not professional advice for your specific situation, and it is written without having seen your property. Damp is frequently a symptom of a structural or building-services fault, and the right response depends on things a website cannot check: the construction of the wall, the ground levels, the condition of the drainage. Where the cause is not obvious, or where the work involves the structure, get an independent inspection from someone with no interest in selling you the treatment.
